High-Tech Restorative Dentistry With Dr. Mormino
Dental care at Staten Island Smiles is incredibly efficient and high-quality thanks to our advanced equipment and on-site dental lab. To design your restoration, the dentist will first take digital impressions of your teeth and gums using state-of-the-art CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) software.
Unlike other dental practices that send production off-site, we fabricate your custom restoration right here at our modern dental lab. The dentist will work side-by-side with a skilled lab technician to ensure your denture has the optimal fit and most natural-looking aesthetics possible. In other words, when you choose our practice, you choose an unparalleled level of care.

A Closer Look at Types of Dentures
Staten Island Smiles offers both traditional and implant-supported denture treatment. Traditional dentures are removable and do not require surgery. Implants, on the other hand, require more extensive treatment but offer greater stability and convenience for patients who qualify. During your consultation, Dr. Mormino will discuss the benefits of each and help you decide which is the best option for your smile.
Traditional Dentures
Full Dentures vs. Partial Dentures
Full Dentures
This type of restoration can replace missing teeth in the upper or lower arch. Made from durable restorative materials, the full denture will be customized to match the natural shape, color, and size of your teeth. You will need to remove your device each night while you sleep and place it in a glass of water to avoid warping. In most cases, a full denture can last many years before needing to be replaced.
Partial Dentures
Like full traditional dentures, partials are made with the same high-quality materials and are more affordable than dental implants. Partial dentures are a great option for patients missing several consecutive teeth on their upper or lower dental arch. Instead of using a dental adhesive, partial dentures attach to adjacent teeth with a small framework of metal clasps to keep the appliance from sliding out of place.
A Same-Day Solution
Are Traditional Dentures Right for Me?
Some patients worry that traditional dentures won't look as natural but all of our restorations are made from lifelike high-quality materials. Patients might choose traditional denture treatment for a couple of reasons:
Faster Treatment
With our own on-site dental lab, our Staten Island practice can design and craft your dentures in a single day. This efficient resource allows us to treat patients faster while carefully overseeing the production of high-quality restorations.
A More Affordable Option
Traditional denture treatment is less extensive than dental implants and is more affordable. Additionally, unlike implants, traditional dentures are at least partially covered by insurance, allowing patients to reduce their total out-of-pocket expenses.
