High-Tech Restorative Dentistry  With Dr. Mormino

Doctor showing patient dental software

Dental care at Staten Island Smiles is incredibly efficient and high-quality thanks to our advanced equipment and on-site dental lab. To design your restoration, the dentist will first take digital impressions of your teeth and gums using state-of-the-art CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) software.

Unlike other dental practices that send production off-site, we fabricate your custom restoration right here at our modern dental lab. The dentist will work side-by-side with a skilled lab technician to ensure your denture has the optimal fit and most natural-looking aesthetics possible. In other words, when you choose our practice, you choose an unparalleled level of care.

We can treat several different concerns with dentures...

A Closer Look at Types of Dentures

Staten Island Smiles offers both traditional and implant-supported denture treatment. Traditional dentures are removable and do not require surgery. Implants, on the other hand, require more extensive treatment but offer greater stability and convenience for patients who qualify. During your consultation, Dr. Mormino will discuss the benefits of each and help you decide which is the best option for your smile.

Traditional Dentures

We provide two different types of traditional dentures at our Staten Island practice, serving patients throughout New York and beyond: full and partial dentures.
Take a closer look at how partial dentures fit into your smile.

Full Dentures vs. Partial Dentures

Full denture

Full Dentures

This type of restoration can replace missing teeth in the upper or lower arch. Made from durable restorative materials, the full denture will be customized to match the natural shape, color, and size of your teeth. You will need to remove your device each night while you sleep and place it in a glass of water to avoid warping. In most cases, a full denture can last many years before needing to be replaced.

Partial denture

Partial Dentures

Like full traditional dentures, partials are made with the same high-quality materials and are more affordable than dental implants. Partial dentures are a great option for patients missing several consecutive teeth on their upper or lower dental arch. Instead of using a dental adhesive, partial dentures attach to adjacent teeth with a small framework of metal clasps to keep the appliance from sliding out of place.

A Same-Day Solution

Dr. Joseph Mormino can provide same-day dentures. He has his own onsite laboratory where technicians can begin crafting your prosthetic as soon as Dr. Mormino provides the specifications. You can undergo extractions in the morning, and by the end of the day, you can expect to have a beautiful, fully functional smile.

Are Traditional Dentures Right for Me?

Some patients worry that traditional dentures won't look as natural but all of our restorations are made from lifelike high-quality materials. Patients might choose traditional denture treatment for a couple of reasons:

Faster Treatment

With our own on-site dental lab, our Staten Island practice can design and craft your dentures in a single day. This efficient resource allows us to treat patients faster while carefully overseeing the production of high-quality restorations.

A More Affordable Option

Traditional denture treatment is less extensive than dental implants and is more affordable. Additionally, unlike implants, traditional dentures are at least partially covered by insurance, allowing patients to reduce their total out-of-pocket expenses.

Implant-Supported Dentures

If you are looking for a more permanent and stable replacement for missing teeth, dental implants may be the ideal solution. While not everyone qualifies for dental implants, Dr. Mormino can provide additional treatments to help make you a more suitable candidate. Receiving dental implants requires a surgical procedure in order to place small titanium posts into your jawbone. Over the course of four to six months, the posts fuse with the jaw and become a permanent fixture in your mouth.
Implant denture
Once you have fully healed, the implants provide a solid foundation for your denture.

"Pain-Free Treatment & Beautiful Work"

"All the work I needed was done in his office-I didn't get sent somewhere else for anything! He explains everything very clearly so there are no surprises. He and his staff made me feel very at ease, and all treatment was pain free. The work he has done for me was beautiful and I am extremely happy with it. I highly recommend Dr. Mormino!"
