DR. MORMINO: In our practice here, we have an on-site dental laboratory that we’ve integrated into the daily operation of our practice. Rather than relying on outside dental laboratories for our implant, veneer, cosmetic work that we do for our patients, we have our own technicians and our own fully functional on-site laboratory here. It allows us to communicate directly and in person with our technicians, we’ve got all our cases, whether it’s a simple veneer or a full mouth implant reconstruction case. And it’s just been a tremendous asset to our practice. Our technicians are extremely talented, extremely well trained. And we don’t have to rely on the traditional dentist and outside dental laboratory relationship. And it’s just been a, it’s been a terrific asset to our practice. The on-site laboratory is where the actual restorative material is fabricated. In other words, if you’re going to have some crowns done, or some porcelain veneers, or some implant crowns done, or anything that the dentist wouldn’t be making directly on you; anything that’s made indirectly is made by the laboratory. So that true final result that you see, a lot of it has to do with the planning of the dentist, but a lot of it also has to do with the skill, the finesse, and the talent of the lab technician.
